I had the chance to snap a few photos today of some Dragonflies out around the Mather Lake Recreation area. I did not take the time to take more...but it isn't because they weren't there because I could not walk too far without seeing another dragonfly. Here are a few of my favorites from August 16... ....and here is a slide show...
The local grand-daughter spent the day recently with me in the midst of creating the new garden. I did capture a few photos so I thought I would share... Here she is enjoying the pool and the birds......and let's not forget the "girl made" wind-chime tunes...
... or capturing the "weed-bunnies"
...playing in the dirt...
...and just being simply cute!
My Mom loved to garden and have flowers and trees surrounding her. I would like to share some photos of Mom's newest garden setting on this special anniversary.
...Many of you know that I lost my Mom this past year. I have put a few of the photos that I posted into a short slideshow with captions. Some of the pictures capture what I saw at Mom's and a few at the end show how the things continue to live through me...
(You will need to advance the slideshow on your own on this one. I did this so you could read the captions.)
Today was another day at the park...but with a twist! Today my Granddaughter met some new playground friends. She enjoyed taking turns... ...and they were kind enough to share some bread to feed the wildlife.... ...along with teaching her to be quiet when you are at the water near fishing poles.... ...It was a great day indeed!
I noticed something as I was returning from my short walk into the park on Sunday... I watched as this pair of Kites flew overhead and on past me... ...only to see the second one come in for a landing...
I went out the next day to see if I could pinpoint the nest location in the local pine tree... ...and found... ...these pair of eyes studying me! White-tailed Kites tend to hover in the air as they hunt for their food. They are about 16" with a little over 3 foot wingspan. You can find out more about this bird at this link.
I am an active 50 plus year old who has been married for OVER 30 years. My husband and I love to travel in our motorhome with our two Prancealots Min Pins. (Prancealots is the kennel name) We love to spend time together, sometimes just doing nothing but listening to music - while he reads.
I enjoy doing genealogy and would love to one day be able to travel all over the country doing Family Tree research.
One day I hope to go fulltime in the motorhome. I cannot think of a better way to see this great country that is called the United States of America. I feel there is so much history and sights to see...and we never take the time to explore and see them because of time constraints. What better way to see America than to be able to take as much time as you like to go from one place to another without having to worry about being at a certain spot by a certain date...and being able to do this in the comforts of "your own home". I love the idea of having my own kitchen, my own bed and my own living area with me at all times!
